Day 19 Wednesday 20 September 2006 Singapore – Krabi, Thailand

V relaxing morning at Stuart and George’s lovely GC bungalow in Singapore. Great to be in a real house with such hospitable hosts after all the hotels and serviced apartments. Lunch with Ting, Alvin and Doris at Level 60 OCB Plaza with magnificent views and mango pudding in frothing glass straight from the science lab then off to the airport for flight to Krabi.

Slight concern about news of Thai coup with JLL and Aus gov advising not to travel (but not offering to refund our tickets), but as the UK govt are not quite so cautious we've an each way bet using both passports. Caught the Tiger Air flight arriving in Krabi at around 5pm. Only sign of coup was a bunch of soldiers at the airport wearing Cliffo sea scouts scarfs. Minibus to resort about 1.5 hrs south. Spectacular sunset from ferry to Ko Lanta. Resort v beautiful even in the dark with spacious comfortable rooms.
