Day 25 Tues 26 September Singapore

A momentous day as the car had arrived! Early start to the Indian embassy to collect the visas, although in keeping with Indian bureaucracy it wasn’t quite so straightforward and we had to leave our passports for collection later that day (on our third visit). Then to the AA for the car paperwork. Fortunately I had two passports so was able to complete the Singapore bureaucracy (rather more streamlined than the Indian) then on to the LTA only to find we needed a custom stamp first. Then to the Shipping office in China town where Angie Ong collected $500 and send us to the port, first for a port pass and then 5km away to the actual wharf. Eventually found the car sitting happily on the dock looking reasonably intact. After eating mooncake with the happy guys in the dickensian office on the wharf, we drove the car out and were again mobile in time to return to the Indian embassy and collect the passports.

Dinner in Holland village and a very non bureaucratic Indian restaurant. They close the streets at night in Holland village which has lots of out door restaurants.
