Day 70 Sat 11 November, Kathmandu to Nagarkot, Nepal

After almost a week, we decide its time to see the mountains, but nothing too adventurous, just a trip to Nagarkot on the rim of the Kathmandu valley, 32kms from the city. The manager at the Samsara recommends the Nagarkot Farmhouse and it turns out to be a very good choice. We navigate twisty windy roads climbing thru rice terraces to the ridge at 2000m and then down a rough track to reach the resort. We arrive in time for tea and sunset, then sit around a cosy fire trying to play scabble before dinner. The resort comprises a 2 storey brick Newari style farmhouse building with several thatched cottages which are v comfortable.

It's soon dark and the stars are incredibly bright, mirrored by tiny lights from the villages and farms dotted all over the hills and terraces.
