Day 90 Thursday 30 November, Bandipur to Pokhara, Nepal

It's very misty in the valley but clear up on the ridge with the mountains gleaming on the other side. We explore the pretty town of Bandipur which used to be an important halt on the caravan trade route from India to Tibet but which has largely been abandoned with the construction of a new road along the valley. There are many attractive brick and timber houses some of which have been restored or converted to hotels, including the Old Bandipur Inn where we have hot chocolates before driving back down to the valley and on to Pokhara 60km further west. We find the Hotel Stupa and catch up with Lyn and the trekking crew before going into the town to equip ourselves with sleeping bags and mars bars. Dinner is Nepali specials at the Boomerang on the lakeshore
