Day 91 Friday 1 December Pokhara to Dhampus, Nepal

We leave for trekking at lunchtime, with Binnay the guide and Harry and Picass our two porters - its important to create local employment – going by minibus to Phedi 20k west. We buy walking sticks at the start of the trail and then climb very steeply from the valley floor. The path is a slate staircase and the views open up quickly as we climb thru terraces and forest. Soon we reach the bench where the valley sides are less steep and there are more terraces and small farms. Eventually we reach Dhampus just as the sun is setting and the mist forming. Our hotel is a pretty basic inn where we have dinner and snuggle into our sleeping bags wearing all the clothing we brought.
