Day 116 Thursday 11 January 2007 Sydney- Delhi
Back on the road again, not quite, after a very pleasant break in Sydney over Christmas, catching up with friends, appreciating the blue skies and clean air and enjoying fresh seafood and home cooking. Funny we didn’t miss the sound of car horns once and if the car hadn’t been sitting in Delhi we might not have had the motivation to resume the journey.
We arrive back in Delhi on separate flights at 2.55am, I1 via Darwin and 6hrs in Mumbai, and I2 via Brisbane and Singapore and are relieved to find the luggage and the hotel car waiting. We reach the Dolphin Inn in the curiously named New Friends Colony at 4.30am and spend the morning sleeping. In the afternoon we visit Humayun’s Tomb, India Gate and Connaught Place. Delhi remains as chaotic as ever but somehow after the few days spent in Sydney it doesn’t seem to matter.
