Hey Dude, Where's my Car?

Dateline Sydney 28 March
After 3 weeks of kicking our heels in Sydney, we've finally learned the car is now on the high seas, en-route from Karachi to Oman, from whence it goes to Port Said and finally, we hope, to Ambari Port in Turkey. (only 4 oportunities to drop the container). The Pakistani gentlemen who drove it away from the Holiday Inn in Lahore many weeks ago delivered it as promised to the port in Karachi without apparent incident. Unfortunately however the Pakistani customs decided to dismantle it and then took a long while to put it back together so it missed the boat.

With I2's mother recovered, we're now leaving for Istanbul next Tuesday and hopefully will pick the car up again on 11 April. How many pieces it's in we'll find out in due course. Meanwhile in a month in Sydney we've walked over the bridge (for its 75th birthday), sailed under the bridge, (for James's 21st birthday), been to the Blue Mountains, voted the govt back in and been to the beach. I guess it's not a bad place to have to waste time, particularly as, being homeless, we've been very well looked after by friends and family. We've even found time to edit some of the 14hrs of video and learned how to display the Tibet gps tracks on Google earth, amazing.
