Day 208 Fri 11 May 2007 Delphi, Greece
After a slow start we spend what’s left of the morning at the tremendous new Delphi Museum with its stunning collection of artefacts from the various Greek and Roman remains. These include the brothers, the famous charioteer and statues of Hadrian’s lover who drowned in the Nile, Apollo and Aphrodite. Its all too much so we slowly make our way back to the town and have lunch under the shade of an ancient horse chestnut tree in the main street. Its too hot to go exploring ruins in the afternoon so we have a long siesta before hitting the shops in the late afternoon and dinner at a less crowded tavern with a splendid view of the sunset.
